The report
What an International Criminal Record Report is
It is a document issued in your name. Some employers, hospitals, schools, contractors and visa offices ask for it as part of their own screening. Official ICRR is a private company that takes your application, reviews your identity documents, and emails the report to you.
Official ICRR is not a government department, police force or court. We do not grant visas or jobs. The organisation that asked for the report decides whether they will accept it. Confirm their written requirements before you pay.
Who may apply
Only the person named on the report. An employer, recruiter or family member cannot submit this form for someone else. If several people in a household need a report, each person completes a separate application.
Typical uses
Applicants usually present the report when they are asked for an international criminal record check. Common settings include healthcare, aviation, private security, education, government contracting and overseas employment. Lists differ by country and by organisation. If they name a specific national police certificate, this report may not replace it.
Identity standard
Every application uses the same document set. We do not start the 12-day or 5-day period until the set is accepted.
- Passport photo page, or national ID (front and back), or driving licence (front and back)
- The number printed on that document
- Proof of current address: electricity bill, water bill or bank statement dated within three months
- Two photographs: one holding the identity document beside the face, one of the face only
Images must be complete, readable and unfiltered. A cropped number or a statement in another person’s name will be returned.
Relationship to other checks
An ICRR is not the same as a UK DBS certificate, a national police clearance from a named country, or an embassy legalisation. If your offer letter lists one of those by name, follow that instruction. You may still need an ICRR as well — that is for the receiving body to say.
